My Mums Birthday Socks!

My mum celebrated her birthday yesterday and I decided to make her some Magda Socks as part of her present. I still used Organic Cotton Yarn but changed the colours slightly to this:

Forgot to take a photo of them and had to ask my mum to take one on her phone. Sorry if it's a little blurred.

And The Winner Is!!!!!!

Congratulations to
ikkinlala

You were correct to answer 5 for question number 6 as I had included the Santa and the Jelly Babies as dolls. If you could email me your address so I can mail your prize to you.

Turquoise Delight

My 2nd handspun skein in a gorgeous jewel mix. Again this is single ply from a carded batt. This was gifted to me by Lottie in the Phoenix Knitters Spinning Swap . I'm really enjoying spinning and using my new wheel, pity my knitting is suffering :(

My Precious!

This is my very first handspun yarn (single ply). It is from a Posh Yarn batt. Very beautiful rich colours with metallic thread throughout. I was totally mesmerized and hooked, such a pity the spinning had to come to an end on these beautiful fibres. However I have tonnes more to spin, so watch this space. Bankrupt? mmmm! not yet haha!

A Doll for Madison!

This is the little doll I made for my niece. The doll was part of Madison's 3rd birthday present. The pattern was found at the Purl Bee

The doll is made completely from felt which I cut from the paper pattern.

The arms, legs, body and head are all separate parts with the legs attached to the body by buttons (real movable parts). The dress is one piece and sleeveless. The trims are strips of felt cut with crimping scissors.

The embellishments on the dress I customized myself, using a heart shaped paper punch and sewing them on to look like a two hole button.

The dolls boots sewn on to the end of the ankles and the laces added .

Last but not least a little character to bring the doll to life. Her lips and eyes are all little shapes of felt. Her eyelashes and nose are sewing stitches ( by the way the blusher is real) then a little ribbon bow for a beautiful finishing touch.
Little Miss Madison was very taken by her, which brought a tear to my eye. One happy little niece.

Spinning Swap Goodies!

I haven't been knitting as much as I should, due to the new love in my life i.e. my spinning wheel and what better way to try her out than a spinning swap. These are the wonderful gifts that I received from Lottie .

Handspun Merino and silk mix in purple and green.

The carded batts are a mix by Babylonglegs

The little sheep flannels are Lotties own creations.

and last but not least as you can see by the bottom piccie. I didn't waste any time with spinning my new pressies lol. I think my effort is pretty ok, considering this is my second attempt on my wheel.
